Babergh Branch of the Oddfellows meet at Lavenham Village Hall on the second Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm. Most meetings are preceded by a short business meeting which is then followed by a speaker or a social activity.
The Oddfellows Friendly Society is over 200 years old and it was created to provide care for its members in time of illness, injury and death. Today the main focus is social, with the Branch organising several trips each year, together with the meetings mentioned above. There is also an alternative day meeting in Sudbury at Gainsborough House on the last Wednesday morning of the month. The Oddfellows is a national organisation and members are able to attend most functions anywhere in the country. Babergh Branch forms part of the Bury St Edmunds and Colchester District so it would be very unusual if there wasn’t an event in the area to suit you.
For over 200 years the Oddfellows has provided a framework which has encouraged people to co-operate and support one another in friendship, love and truth.
